Technology is an important part of today’s learning environment, and the edTech field is growing rapidly every year. How can educators and administrators know if a piece of technology truly helps with classroom learning- or if it has no real value beyond being exciting and new? SIIA’s Education Technology Industry Network (ETIN) delivers a survey to educators each year assessing how they use technology in their class or district. According to techlearning.com, “The 2014 survey asked key questions about the educational use of mobile devices in the classroom and educational institutions’ readiness for online, summative assessments. Both K-12 and postsecondary respondents reported an increasing usage of mobile devices and the use of mobile devices primarily for students to access or research digital content online.”
