At Questar, we feel strongly that ALL assessments should be meaningful for learning, and for college and career preparation. As Education Week reports, thousands of Denver high school students refused their new state science and social studies tests this year, because they did not find the tests relevant to their studies or their future. According to Education Week, “in the Boulder Valley district, 84 percent of students refused to take the tests last month, with some protesting and collecting food and school supplies for low-income families instead.”
