Over the last year, the Thomas B. Fordham Institute commissioned practitioners and content and assessment experts to review for content and quality secure test items provided by four test vendors for grades five and eight for their study, Evaluating the Content and Quality of Next Generation Assessments. In February, the Institute convened a presentation that included representatives of three multi-state tests (ACT Aspire, PARCC, and Smarter Balanced) and a previous state assessment (Massachusetts’ state exam) to talk about the results of this study.
