e-DRP

Online DRP tests are nearly identical to paper-and-pencil DRP tests, except students fill in answer bubbles on screen with the click of a mouse.

Benefits of the Web-based version of the DRP include:

  • Allows you to control how and when you administer, to whom you administer, and who has access to the results
  • Results are available immediately, so students’ reading needs and progress can be monitored right away
  • When multiple students are tested, results can be disaggregated into class, grade, school, or district

With eDRP there's no more:

  • Handscoring of student tests
  • Waiting for results
  • Taking time to distribute materials, fill in answer sheets, and collect and secure assessment materials

Same Test, Different Platform
The eDRP is just like the DRP. It's the same highly respected assessment that provides the same results with the same instructional usefulness, but with eDRP the results are virtually immediate – for the student, for the teacher, for the school, and for the district.

Apart from the fact that students bubble in their answers right on the screen with a mouse click, the test looks almost identical to the paper-and-pencil version.

Test passages appear one at a time on the screen, and item choices are carefully aligned with the text just as they are in the paper version.

Students can easily move from passage to passage by clicking on a small tab at the bottom of each passage, and they can freely move forward and backward in the test just as they can with a regular test booklet.

At the completion of the testing session, students are asked if they want to review their answers, and the computer indicates for each passage how many of the questions they have answered.

After the test is finished, the results can be displayed immediately for the student as an individual student report, so the student can see how well he or she has done – or it can be stored for your review, whichever you prefer.

When multiple students are tested in a session or students from the same teacher are tested over multiple sessions, all of the results can be quickly aggregated into a class, grade, school, and even a district-level report.

How You Can Get Started
To start using the eDRP, all your school, or school district, needs to do is sign up for a testing session through Questar.

Tests are thoroughly secure, and only appropriately designated school personnel can administer (proctor) the tests and see the results – we provide them with a secure password. The tests themselves are fully encrypted and are never stored longer than the testing session on any school computer.

So whether you're interested in testing a single student, a class of students, or all of the classes in a grade, the eDRP can give you the essential assessment information you need.
