The MAC II Test of English Language Proficiency...
The LEP assessment tool you’ve been looking for!
The five levels of the MAC II evaluate the English proficiency of students in K-12 in four areas: Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing. National norms (based on data collected in 2000-2001) are available for each level, for each of these four subtests. The MAC II also offers a 10-minute screening test for entering LEP students in any grade.
Test scores on the MAC II can tell you:
The MAC II is easy to administer, easy to score, easy to interpret.
Because national norms are available for each of the four individual subtests, as well as for the test as a whole, the MAC II is extremely flexible. Administer the whole test, or only the subtests appropriate for your particular group of students.
The Reading subtest — for grades 4 and up — produces not just a normed score, but also criterion-referenced DRP scores. These scores relate the student's reading ability to real-world reading tasks and can be compared to DRP scores achieved by native-speaking students throughout the U.S.
Machine scoring is available through TASA Scoring Services or tests may be hand scored locally. Using our transparent overlays, answer sheets (for grades 4-12) can be hand scored in less than 2 minutes per student.
