Senior Psychometrician

We are seeking an experienced Senior Psychometrician to work collaboratively as part of the Assessment Development and Research team. The successful applicant will plan, coordinate, and perform the statistical work for complex research projects such as calibrating test items, scaling educational tests, equating test results, and conducting standard setting.

 

Responsibilities:

Conduct statistical analysis and interpretation of results as it applies to large-scale educational tests as given under NCLB (e.g., 3PL, Rasch, classical true score analyses). 

Develop score interpretation materials and testing program publications.  Work at a high level of skill, both independently and a part of a team, in all phases of statistical analysis.

Assist in quality control measures to ensure reports and analyses are without error.

Provide guidance and training to other team members in conducting complex research and developing data interpretation materials and publications.

Assume primary responsibility for designing, developing and documenting technical and operating procedures and statistical guidelines for assigned programs.

Represent organization's position on technical issues to clients, external boards and panels, professional associations, and other agencies.

Apply advanced knowledge of statistical procedures, psychometric methods and their applications and statistical programming (e.g., SAS, Parscale, Winsteps).  

 

Requirements:

Doctoral degree required, preferably in Psychometrics, Quantitative Methods, I/O Psychology or related field, and a minimum of 5 years experience in measurement or applied statistics. Experience in educational measurement is preferred.

Demonstrated knowledge of statistical software (SAS and/or SPSS).

Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.

Self-starter with the ability to work independently with or without direction, and prioritize tasks to meet stringent deadlines.

Highly organized with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
