A nationally recognized expert in the areas of standardized assessment and performance standard setting, Mr. Beck has provided assessment consultation and development activities for high-stakes tests in more than 25 states and for a broad range of textbook publishers, military and other governmental agencies.
Vice President, Research and Development
Dr. Leon Dreyfus is the Vice President of Research and Development at Questar Assessment, Inc. His primary responsibilities include test development and management of technical work as well as consultation on other aspects of Questar client programs, including training, implementation and reporting.
Manager of Research and Development and a Lead Psychometrician
Dr. Joseph Orban is the Manager of Research and Development and a lead psychometrician for Questar Assessment, Inc. He provides leadership in the areas of research, test development, psychometrics and statistics, and assessment and training support for Questar’s staff and clients. This leadership includes the design and development of testing programs and special studies, psychometric consultation for research projects, and representation of Questar on technical and policy committees relative to client activities. He has experience with test construction, standard setting for high stakes tests both with the bookmark method for regular assessment and body of work for alternate assessments, test equating and item scaling, and both classical and IRT test scoring.
Vice President of Curriculum Services
Sheila Potter is the Vice President of Curriculum Services at Questar Assessment, Inc. In this position, Ms. Potter collaborates with textbook publishers and state departments of education in creating assessments that are aligned to curriculum objectives and instructional practice. She is frequently called upon to review, modify, and evaluate state content standards and objectives, and to design specifications and prototypes to appropriately assess those standards.

He writes, edits, and reviews materials for high-stakes state assessment projects. In addition, he directs the development of assessment materials in the areas of mathematics and science and advises state department personnel and committees on assessment, curriculum, and content issues. He has worked on several alignment and linkage studies.
He has an unrivalled ability to understand complex arrangements of items and standards.
Vice President, Psychometric Services
Dr. Jeffrey Slinde is the Vice President of Psychometric Services for Questar Assessment, Inc. He has more than 30 years of experience working with large-scale assessments, specializing in horizontal equating, DIF analysis, reliability/generalizability, validity, standard setting and sampling.
Vice President, Assessment Services
Ms. Trent is the Vice President, Assessment Services at Questar Assessment, Inc. She provides content management and supervision for major state clients. In addition, she consults with state clients regarding design and implementation, including oversight of the development for all content-area item development and item reviews.
Vice President, Psychometrics and Research
Dr. Tim Vansickle is Vice President of Psychometrics and Research at Questar Assessment, Inc. He provides leadership in the areas of policy, research, test development, psychometrics and assessment as well as training support for Questar's staff and clients. He also oversees the design and development of testing programs and special studies, psychometric consultation for research projects, and representation of Questar on technical and policy committees relative to client activities.
