Mike Woods is the Vice President of Management Information Systems at Questar Assessment, Inc. He is responsible for providing management oversight of all information technology, including establishing and directing strategic long term goals, policies and procedures, software development and hardware acquisitions.
Mr. Woods led the design and development of Questar's expanded New York scoring facility as well as the implementation of company-wide network IT systems. He directs the operational delivery of all new business opportunities and has participated in the delivery of statewide projects for Arkansas, Idaho, Montana, Georgia, Illinois, Oklahoma, Utah, Missouri, Rhode Island and Michigan. He also has served as the project director for the Indiana Core 40 Assessments and Idaho, as well as RALLY! Education, Classroom, Inc., and Harcourt Achieve Rigby READS.
Prior to Questar, Mr. Woods was the Application Development Manager for the Catholic Foreign Mission Society of America, where he audited business processes, allocated resources for projects, monitored progress, administered budgets, tracked expenses and collaborated with executive staff to implement improved business controls. He also planned, coordinated, and directed Internet development and deployment, Internet services and Web-hosting.
Mr. Woods previously served as Program Director for the New York City Board of Education, one of the largest school systems in the U.S., where he deployed computer networks in more than 200 high schools comprising over 2,000 administrative workstations used to gather and process student-related data. He also spearheaded project logistics for this $4 million initiative, including overseeing site surveys, hardware/software acquisitions, vendor contracting, user training and the supervision of 40 technical staff.
Earlier in his career Mr. Woods taught grades 9-12 mathematics.
Mr. Woods attended Manhattan College in a Masters Program in Administration and Supervision and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of New York: Lehman College.
