Vice President, Psychometric Services
Dr. Jeffrey Slinde is the Vice President of Psychometric Services for Questar Assessment, Inc. He has more than 30 years of experience working with large-scale assessments, specializing in horizontal equating, DIF analysis, reliability/generalizability, validity, standard setting and sampling.
Dr. Slinde has consulted on both custom and commercial assessment products and services that involve mixed-item types (multiple choice, open-ended, and writing prompts) and has worked with classical and item response theory (IRT) methodologies and procedures.
Previously, he served as Senior Project Director for Harcourt Educational Measurement and Riverside Publishing Company. While at Riverside, he also served as a Senior Psychometrician.
While at Science Research Associates, he also served as a psychometrician.
Dr. Slinde began his career as an instructor at the University of Illinois Medical Campus in the Center for Educational Development.
He is a sought-after presenter at educational conferences and his published research has appeared in numerous professional journals.
Dr. Slinde is a member of the American Educational Research Association (
www.aera.net) and the National Council on Measurement in Education (
www.ncme.org).
He earned a Ph.D. in Quantitative and Evaluation Research Methodologies from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and a Master of Science degree in Psychology from Illinois State University, Bloomington-Normal, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Valparaiso University.
