He writes, edits, and reviews materials for high-stakes state assessment projects.  In addition, he directs the development of assessment materials in the areas of mathematics and science and advises state department personnel and committees on assessment, curriculum, and content issues. He has worked on several alignment and linkage studies.
He has an unrivalled ability to understand complex arrangements of items and standards.

Dr. Sewall brings a wealth of educational experience including that of classroom teacher, item developer and reviewer, and developer of content for instructional materials for another testing company.
Previously, he was an independent teacher/consultant, writing, reviewing and editing test items for developers of standardized assessment instruments.  
He also served as a Science Content Specialist at NCS Pearson.
Previously, he served as a Science Teacher and Department Chair at East Coweta High School (Sharpsburg, GA) where he taught Physics, Chemistry, Physical Science, and Mathematics and provided curriculum direction.  Dr. Sewall also served as a GIFT Facilitator at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Center for Integrating Science, Mathematics and Computing.
He is a member of the Georgia Science Teachers Association (www.georgiascienceteacher.org) and the National Science Teachers Association (www.nsta.org ).
Dr. Sewall earned his Ed.D. in Instructional Technology & Distance Education from Nova Southeastern University, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and he is a Ph.D. candidate- ABD in Biomechanics at the Auburn University in Auburn, AL.  He earned his Master of Science in Exercise Physiology and Biomechanics at Auburn University and a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and Athletic Training at Northeastern University in Boston.
