Alternate Assessments

Questar can assist districts and states in assessing students with cognitive disabilities with our Degrees of Reading Power™ (DRP™) Program, as well as with custom programs that leverage our comprehensive services and collaborative approach to solving complex assessment challenges.
Degrees of Reading Power Program
Our highly regarded Degrees of Reading Power (DRP) Program provides a holistic measure of how well students understand the meaning of text. These tests are appropriate for assessing the ability of some students receiving special education services.
We typically recommend using forms designed for students reading several grade levels below their nominal grade. Because all DRP tests measure the same ability on the same scale, the results are comparable to those of students who are being assessed with grade-level-appropriate DRP tests.
DRP tests also can be modified for use with students receiving special education services. For example, the number of alternatives can be reduced or the presentation – such as font size or leading – can be adjusted.
