The MAC II Test of English Language Proficiency™ battery offers a comprehensive assessment of English language skills for non-native speakers of English. Tests assess the skills students in kindergarten through high school need to communicate in English and to function successfully in the English-speaking classroom.
The MAC II Test from Questar evaluates the English proficiency of K–12 students in five areas:
- Speaking
- Listening
- Reading
- Writing
- Comprehension
The MAC II Test also offers a Pre-K screening test and a 10-minute screening test for entering limited English proficiency (LEP) students in any grade.
Test scores on the MAC II can identify:
- Students' strengths and weaknesses in English proficiency
- How much progress your students have made with the English language
- How their English proficiency compares with that of other LEP students
- If your students are ready to exit their ELL or bilingual program
- How well your ELL or bilingual program is working
Effectively Communicate Students' MAC II Results
The MAC II is easy to administer, easy to score, and easy to interpret.
Because national norms are available for individual subtests as well as for the test as a whole, the MAC II is extremely flexible. You can administer the entire test or only the subtests appropriate for your particular group of students.
The Reading subtest – for grades 4 and up – produces not just a normed score but also criterion-referenced DRP scores. These scores relate the student’s reading ability to real-world reading tasks and can be compared to DRP scores achieved by native-speaking students throughout the United States.
Machine scoring is available through Questar's Scoring Services. Tests may also be handscored locally. Using our transparent overlays, answer sheets – for grades 4 to 12 – can be hand scored in less than 2 minutes per student.
