We are seeking experienced Content Specialists (2) to participate in the development of educational assessments in the areas of Math and Science, with emphasis on grades 6-12.
 
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Review test specifications and work with client and other members of the project team to determine development requirements.
• Work with Content Manager to identify and assemble team members for the project, including item writers, editors, copy editors, proofreaders, and graphic artists.
• Supervise the development of test content by freelance item writers and developers.
• Provide ongoing direction to members of the item development team.
• Serve as second editor on assessment content.
• Construct test forms in collaboration with Content Manager and Psychometrician.
• Communicate with client curriculum specialist or content specialist.
• Participate in and/or facilitate client meetings (Item Content review, Bias/Sensitivity review, Item Data review, Item Writing workshops).
• Work with members of the internal team, including Program Managers, Editorial and Item Banking staff, and Graphic Artists in Publishing, and Psychometricians and Scoring department staff.
 
Required Qualifications:
• Three to five years experience in education or educational publishing with significant knowledge of educational assessment.
• Familiarity with content standards and standards-based assessment.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and to manage project schedules.
• Comprehensive and current knowledge of content area.
• Experience working with clients and facilitating meetings.
• Fluency with MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, Project, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent written and verbal interpersonal, listening, and communication skills and evidence of ability to get along with co-workers.
• A commitment to excellence and to exemplary customer service.
• Masters degree (MA/MS) in area of specialization.
 
Travel to and from business sites and meetings is required (approximately 20%).
